This tightens the CI selection behavior for pytest‑mpl. When a PR has a selected test list, baseline generation and image comparisons now run only for those nodeids; if no valid nodeids are selected or nothing is collected, the job skips instead of falling back to the full image suite. This prevents full baseline/image runs on unrelated changes while keeping the selection mechanism intact.
It covers an issue where our tests are stalling out on GHA cuz we have too many.
